Current Offerings in Dance, Yoga, and Improvisation
THE FEELING IS MUTUAL is a one woman show that creator Sarah Ledbetter really, really hopes you'll like. It's about gravity and other pesky inevitable. It makes some pretty wild connections between different things, and is not always a display of virtuosity. It is, rather, a display of daring and sometimes mistaken efforts for the purpose of sharing with you, the audience, what it feels like to be dancing in front of a group of people who deserve to see something really beautiful happen.
Dance Makers Workshop is proud to announce that Crosstown Arts has offered Sarah a residency this summer, where she will spend three weeks developing this work in the exact same gorgeous spaces where she rehearsed and shot video for THE FEELING IS MUTUAL.. There will be a public engagement where Ledbetter will share the open secrets of her work process. This residency follows a kick ass run at Memphis First Ever Fringe Fest. Thanks so much to all of you who came out! Who witnessed! Who signed the wall! Who sighed! Who laughed! Who cried--with me!

My family gave me the greatest gift to celebrate my 40 years on this planet... delicious creative time in the studio with my dearest friend and dance-making Goddess Sarah Ledbetter, sweating and breathing into being a solid first draft of a new solo work for me. I am overwhelmed by the thoughtfulness and love that was poured into this gift by my parents Donald & Joyce Wells, my sisters Jennifer Wells and Marcella Allison, my brother-in-law Tom Allison, and my nephews Jake and Nate Allison. So, I am headed to the studio today to BEGIN. Away... We... GO! Sarah and I look forward to sharing our journey with YOU! Follow along on our Dance Makers Workshop blog.
